When Buck and I began this adventure all that we knew was that God was calling us to step out of our comfort zone and use our talents to glorify Him. I personally have learned so much about myself, my creative expression and Jesus. We started off well and were doing portrait sessions frequently. As we went along, I started to experience a slow fade in my passion for that side of this business. While I love photography, doing portrait sessions wasn’t the joy it had been in the past. This caused me to stop in my tracks and evaluate the reason for these feelings. I stopped posting on social media and began to seek the Lord. It had always been my desire to bring Him glory in every area of my life. This is my reason for living; to know Him first and then make Him known. The Passion Translation says it beautifully in Luke 12:31, ‘Each and every day he will supply your needs as you seek His kingdom passionately, above all else.’ And again in Proverbs 3:6, ‘Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.’
Our directive was clear, continue to seek Him and He would show us the next step. As we did this, the Lord kept reminding me to paint. I have always been an artist and felt the Lord leading me gently by the hand to just spend time with Him and paint. So, that’s what I have been doing. In the past year we have received several very accurate prophetic words from trusted leaders and friends about the call of God on my life to paint and to be a pioneer in this area. These moments have marked the rest of our lives.
I never forgot about photography. My husband Buck is a talented photographer and I still have a passion for capturing the beauty of life. We knew that God had a plan for that as well. We’re not called Anchored Fine Art and Photography for nothing. So, we got an opportunity to photograph a wedding in the mountains of North Georgia. As we did this event we both knew that this was the kind of photography we loved doing. Through that, we have decided to only photograph weddings but to primarily focus on painting.
Wow. So, here we are in 2018. God has been so good to us. He is a good Father and He can’t help but be good to His children. The slow fade I had experienced with photography was in reality the pruning of my Father. He wanted us to grow the most and best fruit possible!
I am a true sprouting vine, and the farmer who tends the vine is my Father. He cares for the branches connected to me by lifting and propping up the fruitless branches and pruning every fruitful branch to yield a GREATER HARVEST.

As we continue to seek the Kingdom of God, I hope that you will follow us on this journey. I can’t promise you that it won’t be a wild ride, but, I know that it will be good.
